Fuel
consumption
With the Electric Bin-Lifts you will not only reduce the stress on your
hydraulic systems, you save money each time you use them. With lower engine
speed when operating the lifts and intelligent activation of your compactor
blade (only when there is enough garbage to justify compaction) fuel consumption
is reduced by as much as 15-20%. The average fuel consumption of garbage
trucks is 32.000 litres a year (US statistics).
Workers safety
In compliance with – and even in anticipation of – European
Standards, the new design of the Electric Bin-Lift has been designed
to cancel out all major sources of danger (such as scissor bars, uncontrolled
power etc.). Ísbjörn and Thorbjörn have smooth surfaces,
power regulation and obstacle detection that make them safer. The lifts
are simple to use and the automatic stop if any obstacle is detected
or the bins are to heavy make the lift very safe and user friendly. The
low noise level of 42 decibels also makes the working environment for
workers better and safer as they are not distracted by high levels of
noise.
In April 2004, Ecoprocess bin lifts were certified EN 1501 full compliance
by the French safety authorities (APAVE)
Modularity
Thanks to the “plug and play” concept associated with their
modularity, your trucks become extremely versatile. In less than 15 minutes
each vehicle can be reconfigured and operational for any possible collection
scenario. This improves the ergonomics of your vehicle fleet, changing
trucks from household collection to industrial collection in less than
15 minutes, thereby reducing the number of excess vehicles required.
Increased productivity and payload
Ísbjörn and Thorbjörn are both fast and light-weight, offering
increased payload for every collection round. As the multiplier for leverage
on the rear axle is 2, the lighter electric bin lift (approx. 500 kg. lighter
than an automatic hydraulic bin lift) increases the payload by 1 ton.
Silent
The Ísbjörn lift generates almost no noise itself at only
42 decibels. The lower engine speed and smoother motion produces less
noise and wear. With less disturbance from collection there are fewer
complaints and possibility of longer working hours in noise restricted
areas. An operating garbage truck generates noise up to the 100 decibel
level, which is associated with “serious hearing damage” and
is much higher than the “highly annoying” noise level bar,
of 75 decibels.
Maintenance
Light-weight, interchangeable and clean, Ísbjörn and Thorbjörn
are particularly easy to service.
The remote maintenance and remote diagnostics greatly improve preventive
maintenance. Mechanical parts and electric components are easily accessible.
The bin lift modules can be removed and replaced in just 15 minutes for
service.
Weighing
The unique and unpresidented weighing module gives accurate weighing
of the content in the bins. As the weighing is carried out on the move,
there is no slow down in the process of collection. Weighing is used
for invoicing purposes, vehicle routing and to gather accurate information
on payload.
Fleet management
With the collective information (vehicle weight and crew tracking) from
the truck, the fleet can be remotely monitored and managed for productivity.
The information on bin weighing is online, offering instant billing
by using identification bin modules, this will also help in route planning.
Alternative fuel
The electric bin lift has a very low energy surge from the vehicles engine
because the lift is powered by the vehicles battery. This makes the
Ecoprocess electric bin lift an excellent choice for alternative fuel
vehicles, there is no need to increase the engine speed when lifting.
Cold climats
The electric binlift is not sensitive to cold climats, which is common
with hydraulic fluids, where the cylinders need a good part of a cold
morning to warm up.
